Silicon Valley Pride

Partnering with UCSF Prevention Science, Samantha Liu, Vaishali Jha, Zara Lee, and Manas Jha participated in Silicon Valley Pride in San Jose on 9/30/26.

During the festivities following the parade, the Quit the Hit Youth Board distributed flyers to adjacent booths, reaching individuals from diverse backgrounds and demographics. Pride brought together representatives across many different facets of identity, creating an environment that celebrated individuality and community. In the spirit of Pride, the Quit the Hit Youth Board is committed to being judgment-free and supporting the best versions of ourselves.

Allen Baptist Church Health Fair

August 8, 2026 | Oakland, California

Quit the Hit Youth Advisory Board co-chairs Samantha Liu and Kayliana Stevenson represented QTH at the annual Allen Baptist Church Health Fair in Oakland. They shared vaping education and resources with more than 100 community members, including young people, parents, and health professionals.

Located beside a booth focused on lung cancer screening and smoking cessation, the QTH table prompted conversations about the shift from cigarette smoking to vaping, particularly among younger people. The event gave the team an opportunity to connect one-on-one with community members and collaborate with college interns, medical fellows, oncologists, and other physicians working to improve community health.
